About the speaker
Grace Wong, Forced Marrigae Lawyer and Project Manager, Anti-Slavery Australia
Grace studied her Juris Doctor at the University of Technology Sydney and began her career with the government team at Sparke Helmore, primarily in the area of administrative law, and then in the class action litigation team at Clayton Utz.
She now works with vulnerable children, men and women across Australia who have been affected by forced marriage, to gain access to legal remedies and to support those who work with them. She is passionate about human rights and the prevention of human trafficking and all forms of slavery.
Last year, Grace helped convene Australia’s first national conference on forced marriage and currently runs, in partnership with the Australian Red Cross, the NSW Forced Marriage Network. She is currently working with Anti-Slavery Australia’s pro bono partners on the development of a standalone protection order scheme for people at risk of forced marriage.
