International Human Rights

Women’s Legal Service NSW believes that all women are entitled to a fair and just society that respects their human rights. As part of our work in promoting women’s human rights, we engage actively in the United Nations Human Rights Treaty System accountability mechanisms, including:

• Universal Periodic Review
• CEDAW 

Other human rights treaties

We also contribute to review processes under other international human rights treaties. For example, we have contributed to the Australian NGO reports on the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Cultural and Social Rights.
