The WLS Foundation

What is ‘The Foundation’?WLS_Foundation_Logos_Facebook

Our Foundation was set up in 2012 to mark the 30 Year Anniversary of WLS NSW.  It was established as an independent activity of WLS NSW to support and promote our work and promote fundraising opportunities, where public funding is unreliable. Using the Foundation to establish an independent source of funding ensures that the WLS NSW can continue this important work.

The Foundation also campaigns for the reform of unjust laws, policy and legal processes that affect the rights and limit the lives of women, particularly those most disadvantaged in their access to justice. A key vision of the Foundation is the pursuit of a fair and just legal system for all women in NSW.

Since its inception The Foundation has united a small but passionate network of supporters, who attend our events, make regular donations and promote our projects.

Feminist Legal Perspectives – Seminar Series

Following the success of our inspiring monthly seminars in 2018 and thanks to the generous support of hosts Colin Biggers and Paisley, we will continue our Seminar Series in 2019.

These talks provide the opportunity to exchange ideas, inform change and share research. Each month we will discuss the latest developments in legal issues that directly impact women and children.

We’ll kick off the new series in February with Dr Jane Wangmann discussing Domestic Violence Disclosure Schemes, followed by a very special panel of inspiring women to celebrate International Women’s Day in March.

Check out our Seminar Series for 2019 HERE.

How Can I Get Involved?

We are working to build a network of supporters who are prepared to make a regular financial commitment to ensure the great work of the WLS NSW continues irrespective of the level of funding we receive from government.

To make a regular or one-off donation visit the Foundation’s page at The Foundation also values support in-kind.
