About the speaker

Dr Jane Wangmann, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, UTS

Dr Jane Wangmann’s work is primarily concerned with legal responses to domestic and family violence. In particular how law defines, understands and conceives of this harm. Her PhD completed in 2009 in the Faculty of Law, University of Sydney explored the use of cross applications in domestic violence protection order proceedings in NSW. Jane’s current research work is exploring the use of typologies of family violence in the Australian family law system, and differences in men and women reported to the police as domestic violence offenders.
